We have had a busy planting month. I added 2 raised gardens in the back yard, and about to install 2 more. In one, I made a salsa garden. In the other, I plan to add some native bushes.
Otherwise, I also planted 2 Burr oak trees, 4 arizona cypress, 3 bald cypress, 3 mimosa, a lacey oak, a purple sage, a juniper, a mexican plum, and 2 blue mistflower bushes.
I pulled a BUNCH of johnson grass that has grown near the house.
I have waited to mow despite the plentiful rain and tall johnson grass in the front pasture. I have tried everything except poison to get rid of it, but it is VERY persistent. That said, I am not mowing because there are many wildflowers there that are in full bloom, including Mexican blanket/hat and bee balm.
